While driving the roads around Barcelona at night, I was drawn to the halogen lit wild spaces that are formed by the boundaries of highways and roadsides. They bring to mind nighttime road trips and scenes of desolation and abandon, small instants frozen in memory and expanded upon by imagination. These spaces play with the conflict of natural beauty running its course, confronted by forced boundaries and the night. The pictures were made in and around Barcelona in the winter and spring of 2010.
